AMBER SANDS- DEBUT SOLO ALBUM

(2014; self- released)

Some albums take you on a journey; ‘Amber Sands’ is like taking a year off,

and making your way around the world (Dan Hegarty: The Alternative, RTÉ 2 FM)

Amber Sands […] an ear-grabbingly unusual and most stimulating ride

that’s pretty much unforgettable (David Kidman, FATEA magazine).

She makes Yodel music modern and happening [...] One of the top albums of 2014 (Eelco Schilder: folkworld)

Stomping rhythms, fiery reels, consoling Indian raags and funk- beat yodelling entice the listener to follow the musicians to the holy river ganges, the West coast of Ireland, over to remote villages in Bulgaria, Swedish forests and alpine pastures in Austria.

Claudia Schwab´s debut album ´Amber Sands´ is a compilation of music that unites the sounds of her´native home-place of Austria with her adopted home of Ireland, as well as various other music traditions with which she feels at home.

A unique and atmospheric blend of Irish, Indian, Swedish and Eastern European music styles overlaid with her native Austrian yodelling, Schwab´s music reflects her passion for people, place, and their associated music.

Featuring outstanding Irish and international performers such as Estonian bassist Marti Tärn, Irish musicians Eamonn Cagney, Seamie O´Dowd, Cathy Jordan and Seanan Brennan, the album presents a inimitable amalgamation of the world's music traditions and musical talents.
