As "Rising Star" of the European Concert Hall Organisation, Jazz trumpet legend, band leader, composer and multi instrumentalist Matthias Schriefl toured through the major concert halls in Europe with his band "Shreefpunk" from 2008 to 2010. In 2012 the album "Six, Alps & Jazz" was released under ACT's "Young German Jazz" series and won multiple awards. In 2016, Schriefl was awarded the Weltmusik- Preis RUTH in Rudolstadt.
His music, described as "jazz-punk-groove fusion", "woodland meets urban jungle and domestic music mixes with club sounds", "daredevil experimental jazz that in no way sounds clean or intellectual, conveying passion and humour and allowing surprisingly outrageous outbursts", can be heard in various line-ups such as Shreefpunk, Multiorchester, Moving Krippenspielers, Matthias Schriefl Trio, Six, Alps & Jazz, Brazilian Motions, Netnakisum feat.Matthias Schriefl and Matria.
